Air quality monitor plan for Drogheda

The Environment Protection Agency is to install new air quality monitoring systems in Drogheda as part of a €5m programme.

The FIDAS PM monitors will test Particulate Matter (PM) at 2.5 and 10 levels.

PM2.5 (particles less than 2.5 micrometers in diameter) cause severe lung issues, penetrating deeply into the lung, irritate and corrode the alveolar wall, and consequently impair lung function.
